Location and transport
Hotel Ísafjörður is situated on Silfurtorg square in the center of Ísafjörður. A few steps away you will find shops, banks and other services.
Finding the hotel
When you arrive in Ísafjörður by road 61 take the roundabout to Hafnarstræti. That means you go "one o'clock" or the second exit. Drive down the street 3-5 blocks (depending on definition) until you come to a small square, Silfurtorg. Then, the hotel is on the right hand side of the street. Turn to the right when you see the hotel. Free parking in front or in the back of the hotel, but also ample parking spaces behind it.

On land
The road between Ísafjörður and Reykjavík is 455 km and all paved and open all year. The road numbers from Reykjavík are 1-60 and 61.

However, the most common way to drive is to do the peninsula in a circle, starting by taking
ferry Baldur or driving through Reykhólar, and going clockwise from there, picking up all the tourist attractions on the way.

Ferry Baldur
In summer the ferry Baldur runs twice a day between Stykkishólmur and Brjánslækur, and once daily during the winter months. Ísafjörður is only 122 km by road from Brjánslækur.

Flights
Ísafjörður Airport is only 5 km from the center of town. There are regular daily flights all year round between Ísafjörður and Reykjavík. Flying time is 35 minutes. For further information see

Fly-bus
The fly-bus runs to and from the airport in connection with all scheduled flights (and even the delayed ones!) The price is 500 ISK. Departure is from Hótel Ísafjörður and Hótel Edda 45 minutes before departure of flight, effectively 15 minutes before check-in time. Please tell the person working at our lobby that you'll be using the service, to make sure the fly-bus stops by.
Taxis
Taxis are usually present at the airport when flights arrive. If you want to be sure, send us a line or call us and we will arrange it for you. If you want, then the taxi phone number is (+354)456 3518. Taxi drivers are sometimes not very good in English, especially through the phone. However,
no worries , there's only one hotel in town, and conveniently hotel is one of the very few Icelandic words that are loanwords and sound the same in both languages.
Buses and coaches
Local buses will take you around the town of Ísafjörður and to the other townships in the community: Flateyri, Suðureyri, Þingeyri, Súðavík and Bolungarvík. There are scheduled coaches during summer to Hólmavík, Akureyri, Reykjavík, and south from Ísafjörður to Látrabjarg and Brjánslækur. Coaches can be hired for large or small groups.
